Bull of the Woods Tree Service was founded in 2021 by Wes Brewer and Mike Waseen, lifelong friends raised in Bethany, Illinois and graduates of Okaw Valley High School. Wes brought years of hands-on tree care and hospitality experience, while Mike contributed a proven track record in business development, operations, and customer service excellence.
Before launching the company, they saw a clear gap in the local tree care industry. While several providers were capable of removing trees, many fell short on professionalism and reliability. Friends and family frequently shared stories of missed appointments, unanswered calls, and even jobs abandoned midway through.
On the other side of the spectrum, some companies communicated well but delivered inconsistent results—subpar pruning, incomplete cleanup, and unnecessary turf damage left property owners frustrated and disappointed.
Coming from industries where service, accountability, and high standards are non-negotiable, Wes and Mike knew that Bethany and the surrounding communities deserved better. They set out to build a tree service that treated every property with respect and every customer like a neighbor.
